The multi-room maestro makes a debut with its first Bluetooth headphone. Cliff Joseph declares himself impressed

Some online commentators greeted the announcement of Sonos’ first headphone by proclaiming it to be an “AirPods Max killer”. To be frank, that’s not saying much given the limitations of the Apple flagship headphone. In fact, Sonos’ ambitions with the Ace go much further – not simply creating its first high-end headphone, but also providing compatibility with its own range of soundbars to make it part of a wider home setup. The AirPods comparison is apt, though, as the Ace has a similar, sleek appearance – available in black or white – including a gleaming stainless steel headband.
