Our Group Tests are supported by rigorous and exhaustive listening tests carried out by experts

INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER GROUP TEST SOME MANUFACTURERS SUPPLY their amps pre-run in and others don’t. So all units are switched on 48 hours before testing and treated to a CD player spinning IsoTek’s Test And Burn In disc on repeat, while connected to speakers. Each is then played for a few days in our reference system, to further run them in. Each amp is placed on a Townshend Audio Seismic Shelf, specified to hold the weight of the heaviest here. Two different speakers are used, to see how each amp performs with a relatively easy load and then a harder one. The JBL L82 MkII has a quoted sensitivity of 88dB and nominal impedance of 8ohm.
