Various Artists Pure Reference Open reel tape Chasing The Dragon PRODUCED AS A demo tape by the UK’s Chasing The Dragon, Pure Reference contains a diverse mix of eight tracks taken from the label’s extensive recording archive. All of the recordings have been made on a Studer A820 master tape recorder, without any noise-reduction system, compression, limiting or reverberation used as it degrades the analogue audio signals. The recordings have been compiled and made into a tape containing an eclectic compilation of superb audiophile-quality music. The various venues include churches, concert halls and, of course, a recording studio while the music ranges from rousing jazz to classical, played by a big band, on a powerful organ or on solo instruments, including the human voice.
