With Luck And Strange Gilmour has crafted an elegant and understated gem. It’s only his fifth solo album in a 60-year career and his first in nine years, but he’s still exploring new sonic territory. The title track and seven-and-a-half-minute Scattered represent the familiar and will be manna to longtime fans with wonderful, bluesy guitar solos and literate lyrics by Gilmour’s journalist wife Polly Samson.
