The AT-LP8X showcases a new a J-shaped aluminium tonearm that automatically raises at the end of the record and stops the motor – a rare feature for a direct-drive turntable, which the company says not only reduces needle wear or damage but also gives users the freedom for convenient, hassle-free listening. In addition, the tonearm comes equipped with the new AT-LT10 headshell, also launching now, which connects it to the black AT-VM95E (HFC 444) cartridge. The turntable’s MDF box plinth, adjustable feet, thick rubber-damped, anti-resonance, die-cast aluminium platter and 2.5mm rubber mat have been designed to work together in an attempt to temper unwanted noise and vibration.
