▶ Record Runner £70 At first glance, the Record Runner doesn’t look anything like a turntable at all. Built into the silhouette of a VW camper van, it inverts the process by which a record player works, moving the stylus around a stationary record. This makes it a great deal smaller than a conventional turntable, which is ideal for taking it out and about. So long as the record is on a flat surface, you’re good to go. Powered by AAA batteries, the Record Runner can run at 33 and 45rpm (and works on both 12in and 7in records) and uses an Audio-Technica stylus as a pick-up, which makes it reasonably gentle on your vinyl.
