ACTIVE LOUDSPEAKERS GROUP TEST THERE ARE TWO contests in one here. We’ve divided this roundup into distinct groups: three big-hitting floorstanders and three more affordable standmount alternatives. There will be a winner from each group and, as always, one overall champ. We’re concentrating on two-channel stereo performance – one of the standmounts attempting this from a single enclosure, another offering the option of wall mounting. But before any serious listening is embarked upon, all the models are updated for the latest firmware versions. As all claim the very latest wireless connectivity, that’s how they are set up, using both the manufacturer’s dedicated app plus Ethernet connection to a broadband router where applicable.
