The boosted 993 defied depreciation and continues to soar

Has there ever been a better time to buy a 993-series Porsche 911 Turbo? Definitely. That time was 10 years ago when they were selling, on average, for about half of what they’re selling for these days. But, back then, you likely would’ve said: Huh? $80,000 or $90,000 for a 15-year-old Porsche? That’s almost what they cost new! Well, depreciation isn’t something these cars have ever really concerned themselves with. They were expensive new, expensive when they were a few years old, and, you guessed it, they’re more expensive now. Even if you adjust for inflation, the approximately $100,000 price tag of the 911 Turbo in 1996 is around $163,000 today. One of the popular price guides lists the average price for a 993 Turbo at $189,000 while another at $138,000. It’s…
