In the 20th century, Cadillac high-performance cars were largely nonexistent. Cadillacs were big, soft, and sleepy, the sort of thing driven by your rich aunt whom you entertain in the hope that you remain in the will. Vinyl tops. Stand-up hood ornaments. Wire hubcaps. One-finger steering. Real wood that managed to look fake. Big V-8 torque so slathered in bulk that power was blunted beyond recognition. In 2004, the Cadillac CTS-V changed all that. It wasn’t the first time Cadillac aimed for European flair, but it was the first time it had even approached the target.
