JO COX Crowds pay respects to late MP Hundreds of mourners lined the streets of Batley and Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire, for the funeral last Friday of Labour MP Jo Cox, described as a “Yorkshire rose”. The cortege followed a route around Jo’s constituency to allow people to pay their respects. In a statement released ahead of the funeral, Jo’s husband Brendan, with whom she had children Cuillin, five, and Lejla, three, said: “Knowing that so many people share both our grief and our determination to take forward Jo’s legacy is a source of great strength at what otherwise feels like a very bleak time.” The popular politician was shot and stabbed to death last month. •Caroline Aherne has been laid to rest in a private ceremony near her home in Timperley, Greater Manchester.…
