FITTING TRIBUTE AS LIZ WEARS LATE FRIEND’S FLOWERS
Stretching back two decades, Elizabeth Hurley’s connection with India is well known. “I adore visiting India. I have some very dear friends in [Mumbai],” she has said.
And her latest trip afforded her the opportunity to pay tribute to one of them: the fashion designer Rohit Bal, who died in November.
Posting photos on Instagram in which she showcased a Bal flower-print sari (left), Elizabeth captioned them: “Salaam Bombay! #bombaynights.”
She is no stranger to Rohit’s designs. He created the bridal dance outfit – a silver top and skirt – for her wedding to Indian businessman Arun Nayar in Jodhpur in 2007, as well as the traditional kurtas, or tunics, worn by Arun and by Elizabeth’s son Damian, then aged four.
