Strictly star Johannes Radebe on swapping dance shoes for Kinky Boots, royal appointments and his mum’s pride

There’s no doubt that Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Radebe, affectionately known as “Jojo”, is living his best life. The lovable professional dancer has been lighting up our TV screens on the hit BBC show since 2018, and now he has landed his “dream role” – playing Lola in Kinky Boots: The Musical. The Tony and Grammy Award-winning show, which features music by Cyndi Lauper, tells the story of Charlie Price, who saves his family’s failing shoe factory with the help of Lola, a sparkly, savvy drag queen.
