Shigeru Bans kraftvolle Holzarchitektur prägt das Simose Art Museum in Hiroshima und zehn Gästepavillons

Spektakuläre Architektur hat sich in den letzten Jahren an den Ufern und auf den Inseln des stillen Seto-Binnenmeers bei Hiroshima versammelt. Fast alle japanischen Meister haben sich dort mit Kulturbauten verewigt, und auch Shigeru Ban ist nun mit dem Simose Art Museum vertreten. Neben dem großen Empfangsgebäude mit seinem netzartigen Dach ist die Galerie in acht beweglichen farbigen Containern zu bestaunen, die auf einer spiegelnden Wasserfläche für Aufmerksamkeit sorgen. Besucher, die über Nacht bleiben wollen, können sich in zehn Häusern einquartieren. Einige sind Repliken von ikonischen Bauten Shigeru Bans wie dem Wall-Less House oder dem Paper House.
