KATE MOSS ISN’T from Berlin, but the supermodel looked very much in her element in a September 2000 fashion story photographed for Harper’s Bazaar by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin and set amid the pastiche of old and new and classical and modern that then defined the German capital. A little more than a decade after the Berlin Wall fell, the city was still searching for a new identity, as its inhabitants sought to escape the shadows of World War II and the Iron Curtain and forge a different future.
