Föddes under andra världskriget! ● Det var dagen innan julafton 1943 som Silvia Renate Sommerlath föddes i tyska Heidelberg. Som året antyder var det mitt under andra världskriget och pappa Walther Sommerlath var då delaktig i att rädda såväl judar som motståndsmän från nazisterna. MEN 1947 flyttade familjen återigen till Brasilien där drottningens mamma Alice Sommerlath, född Soares de Toledo, hade sina rötter. Drottning Silvia har berättat att barndomen var lycklig och att en av hennes bästa vänner var apan Mickey som familjen fick i gåva. – Han kunde lyssna och visste exakt när jag var ledsen eller glad. Då följde han mig och tröstade mig, har hon sagt i Kamratposten. Familjen, som också bestod av framlidna bröderna Walther och Jörg samt Ralf, bodde där fram till 1957 då de återvände till forna Västtyskland. Sex år…
