Not many animals intrigue me as much as the weasel does. The very first weasel I ever took was in 2005. I was 9 years old and I found a set of tracks in the backyard at a brushpile. These tracks were heavily packed down, and inside the brushpile was a hole. The tracks led into the hole. I placed a wooden weasel box my grandfather had made many years before with a 1.5 Sleepy Creek Longspring guarding the entrance. It took all of the strength I could muster in my 9-year-old body to set the trap. The following day, accompanied by my grandma, I took my first white weasel/ermine.
