Australia: the “voluntary” buyback it's an expropriation

Australia is proving to be one of the countries most hostile to the legal possession of guns by its citizens. Until now, however, we had not even come close to what is being discussed in the West Australian Parliament. The reform of the legislation on guns, in fact, aims to introduce a limit to the number of guns that can be possessed by each citizen (5 copies), with a possible extension up to 10 in exceptional and justified cases. The local government has moved forward by launching a program of “voluntary” surrender of “unnecessary” weapons by citizens until August 31st. 64.3 million dollars have been allocated for the operation and fixed rates have been indicated for each gun delivered, which vary depending on whether the gun of a given category…
