1 EUROPE Russian and US officials hold talks in Saudi Arabia Leading Russian and US officials met in Saudi Arabia this week for high-stakes talks aimed at ending Moscow’s nearly three-year war in Ukraine, with Kyiv and Europe excluded from the negotiations. The swift push to organise the talks came after last week’s call between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, where the two leaders discussed opening negotiations on the war.
