En partant à la faute à quatre tours de l’arrivée du Grand Prix d’Aragon alors qu’il ferraillait aux avant-postes, Pedro Acosta aurait pu voir son avance au classement général vilainement écornée. Alors à la lutte pour la victoire, Sergio Garcia aurait pu en effet en profiter pour revenir à une trentaine de points du leader.
