A 23 ans, Luca Marini semble prêt à assumer son statut de candidat au titre de champion du monde Moto2. Au Qatar, avant que le Covid ne mette la compétition à l’arrêt et bouleverse le calendrier, le petit frère de Valentino Rossi avait bouclé une bonne partie de la course en tête avant d’aller à la faute. Quatre mois plus tard, il s’est racheté en remportant de fort belle manière le Grand Prix d’Espagne qui marquait le retour à la compétition des pilotes Moto2. Depuis, Marini conserve son leadership en enchaînant podiums et places d’honneur.
