Deniz Öncü Frère de Can Öncü, plus jeune vainqueur en GP de l’histoire, Deniz a enregistré son premier podium en Catalogne cette année. Sa manœuvre durant la course à Austin lui a valu deux courses de suspension. Pedro Acosta Il est devenu cette année le premier pilote à coiffer la couronne en 125 cm3 /Moto3 lors de son année de rookie depuis Loris Capirossi en 1990.
