Avec désormais trois victoires à son compteur, la KTM RC16 n’est plus un simple outsider. Miguel Oliveira (photo) et Brad Binder peuvent attaquer 2021 sans complexes, mais avec de sérieuses ambitions. Encore faudra-t-il gérer la pression.

Autant le dire, il y a un an, personne n’imaginait que KTM puisse remporter plus d’un cinquième des épreuves du championnat MotoGP. Pas plus que le team Tech3 obtienne ses deux premières victoires en classe reine avec le constructeur autrichien après avoir échoué dans sa quête au cours de ses 18 saisons de collaboration avec Yamaha. Si Joan Mir et Suzuki ont marqué les esprits l’an dernier, KTM a tout autant laissé sa trace sur ce championnat 2020 décidément pas comme les autres. Le rookie Brad Binder a frappé le premier en République tchèque, Miguel Oliveira a confirmé la santé de la RC16 en s’imposant ensuite en Autriche et au Portugal.
