Et si ce qui était peut-être sa dernière venue à Assen en tant que pilote s’est terminée dans le bac à gravier pour l’Italien, ce dernier avait déjà reçu un peu plus tôt dans le week-end le titre honorifique de citoyen d’honneur de la ville d’Assen. Et pour cause, avec 10 victoires aux Pays-Bas, on peut dire que Rossi y a imprimé sa marque durablement: « C’est une grande fierté pour moi car Assen est un endroit magique pour tous les pilotes et les fans de GP. »…
