Avec un débutant pour nouveau champion, la Coupe du monde MotoE confirme sa démocratisation. Un signe encourageant pour Nicolas Goubert, le patron de la moto électrique.

Ll faut le reconnaître, question suspense et spectacle, le MotoE a, cette année, été à la hauteur. Malgré la crise du Covid-19 qui a bousculé son calendrier, la deuxième édition de la Coupe du monde de motos électriques a proposé des courses animées, et au final, un champion inattendu. Arrivé au Mans en troisième position au classement général avec sept points de retard sur le leader et tenant du titre Matteo Ferrari, Jordi Torres était en effet loin de faire figure de favori. « Je misais plutôt sur un duel entre Aegerter et Ferrari, reconnaît Nicolas Goubert, le directeur de la compétition. Mais une fois encore, nous avons eu quelques surprises… » L’Italien étant parti à la faute et le Suisse ayant été pris dans un carambolage, c’est finalement l’Espagnol…
