Le 20 octobre 2000, sur le circuit de Phillip Island, Olivier Jacque remporte le titre de champion du monde 250 en s’imposant devant son coéquipier, Shinya Nakano, à la sortie du dernier virage du Grand Prix d’Australie. Une saison historique pour le pilote français et le team Tech3.
