The fig is a small subtropical tree whose age-old native range is the Mediterranean. It’s relatively hardy and drought tolerant once established but a lack of water will impact fruit production.
Fig trees are ideal for many Aussie gardens. They can be grown in the ground if you’ve got the room or, if space is limited, in large pots or even espaliered along a fence or trellis.
