A few years ago, when Alan Reis was in his mid-80s, a member of his family suggested he document his wonderful life so far — and so was born his memoir, Ramblings of a Silly Old Bugger. It’s a delightful read and documents a remarkable man’s life journey. And it’s not over: this year he turns 89 years young and has no intention of slowing down. Born in Toowoomba, Alan spent some of his childhood in Nobby, Kingaroy and Mount Tyson until his father returned to Toowoomba and bought a small farm on a corner just south of the present-day CBD.
