Take a dive this spring and summer into the world of capsicums and you’ll realise their shapes and colours go well beyond the red, green and yellow “bell peppers” you’ll find at the supermarket. For some of the most unusual and heirloom varieties, look for seeds and sow them around the same time you do your tomatoes — or any time throughout spring for a summer and autumn harvest. CAPSICUMS ARE VERY “SET AND FORGET” PLANTS IN MY GARDEN. MANY HAVE A NEAT COMPACT GROWTH HABIT AND TEND TO FRUIT HAPPILY WITH MINIMAL EFFORT.
