Creating a sense of the sacred in a garden is a deeply personal expression. For some it might be a special spot for reflection of loved ones passed. Maybe it’s a quiet spot to meditate and connect with the profundity of nature or an area dedicated to cultivating sacred plants such as sage or holy basil. Not everyone has a garden, so in seeking the sacred some might have a special pot plant or a tree in a public garden or a religious site they visit. While some cultures believe that all of nature is sacred, the one thing sacred garden spaces have in common is they hold a connection to something dear to our hearts.
