GOOD-LOOKING RED MOUNTAIN SPINACH GIVES A SALAD A COLOUR AND FLAVOUR BOOST

Looking for a way to give your summer salads a kick? Add the vibrant leaves of red mountain spinach, also known as orache. As well as adding the colourful leaves to salads you can cook them like spinach. The purple-red leaves taste like spinach, are around 15cm long and lance shaped and are on the growing list of plants dubbed superfoods. Orache has a slightly salty flavour and is said to be good for heart health. Its superfood status is due to its high nutrient content, which includes phosphorus, iron, zinc, selenium, calcium, magnesium, protein, anthocyanins, vitamin C, vitamin K, carotene, tryptophan, and dietary fibre.
