Postwar Memories Reading “Army Barracks,” the story by Steven M. Sybert in the November/December 2022 issue of Good Old Days, reminded me of riding in the car near Pismo Beach on U.S. 101 in California after World War II. I remember seeing the disintegrating netting along the high side of the road, where cannons had been camouflaged during the war in preparation for a possible Japanese attack.
