EDITOR'S NOTE

I have lived all my life in the same part of this great country—southern Indiana near the Ohio River. In this area, we have four distinct seasons each year. Autumn is my favorite for many reasons: the changing color of the leaves; the flip-flopping of the weather between cold, possibly snowy days and the warmer few days of Indian summer; the beginning of a new school year; and the fun of Halloween. In this issue we will visit all those aspects of autumn and more as we enjoy the memories our fellow readers have shared. Their stories tell of school days, Halloween moments, harvesttime and, oh, those interesting early jobs we had. I love this time of year and remember my best-ever Halloween haul.
