Turning up the heat

Olive Ezike impressed the judges of our Rising Stars competition with her creative take on Nigerian food, plus a new recipe from our winner Georgia Hughes

Olive made it through to the finals of our competition with a video on traditional Nigerian puff puff (see recipe, opposite), exemplifying the kind of comforting and creative food she likes to cook at home and share with others through her online brand Vincooks. The judges – our food director Cassie Best and chef Max La Manna – were won over by her natural, charming presenting style, as well as the featherlight doughnuts and a well-spiced tofu dish that earned her one of four runner-up spots behind our eventual winner, Georgia Hughes.
