“10,000 VOLTS” STEVE BROWN: This record, to me, is quintessential classic Ace Frehley. It’s everything that Ace was, let’s say back in 1977 and 1978. The heyday of Kiss and what everything Ace is now. To me the song is a modern-day “Shock Me” — it incorporates every part and every element that all of us Kiss fans and Ace Frehley fans love about Ace. It’s got an upbeat, great groove. It’s kind of got a little bit of a “Firehouse” Kiss thing. Ace said it himself, “‘10,000 Volts’ is the new ‘Shock Me.’” The song has great guitar sounds and great vocals, and of course the lyrics that Ace and I came up with, “she hit me like 10,000 volts” — nothing epitomizes Ace Frehley more than the story of…
