JOEY KRAMER OF AEROSMITH
Since day one, Bronx, New York-born drummer Joey Kramer was the backbone of Aerosmith. While the howling Steven Tyler — who Kramer grew up with and remains close to — was often the focus, as was the effortlessly cool and uber-talented guitarist Joe Perry, one must never discount the exploits of Kramer.
Kramer’s hard-hitting, soul-infused drumming provided an essential and funky backdrop for songs like “Walk This Way,” “Back in the Saddle” and “Love in an Elevator.” Moreover, in the live setting, Kramer brought unbridled energy and an edgy yet effervescent personality from behind the kit.
