Although Capt. Troy Creasy began fishing for trout when he was “old enough to walk,” it wasn’t until later in life that he got a taste of what Lake Ontario offers. He booked his first lake charter with friends in the late 1970s and was immediately intrigued by the size and numbers of fish. Not long after, in 1985, he started a guiding business on the Salmon River, an eastern tributary of Lake Ontario renowned for its runs of kings. Five years later, he began captaining charters on the lake. Based in Oswego, N.Y., Capt.
