Amazon wasn’t at the CES 2017 gadget showcase in Las Vegas but Alexa certainly was. Thanks to a decision to allow third-party devs and manufacturers to integrate the technology into their own products, the number of gadgets making use of Alexa has exploded. Voice command tech is already the hot trend for this year and everyone seems to want in on the action. Google is certainly putting up a fight with its low-cost Home speaker and there’s talk of an equivalent device using Apple’s Siri. Sony is hoping its cute Xperia Agent will give it the edge too but Amazon is leading the way.
