For Frozen 2, the crew looked beneath the snow and ice to uncover an unexpected palette.

“A fall palette means an incredibly vibrant environment with striking colors”– Production Designer, Michael Giaimo Before working on Frozen 2, some of the crew headed off on a research trip to the Nordics to get ideas for the look of the new film. Production Designer Michael Giaimo, Directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, Producer Peter Del Vecho, Director of Story Marc Smith, and VP of Creative Development Jessica Julius headed out on a trip to Norway, Finland, and Iceland to study the landscapes and the cultures there. The Frozen 2 team spoke to historians, experts in the local customs and cultures, and environmental authorities and botanists.
