Vikki Ross, one of the UK’s best and best-known copywriters, created #CopywritersUnite in 2012.
It helps copywriters around the world support, motivate and celebrate each other.
Nowadays, copywriters meet up for drinks and chats in Amsterdam, Berlin, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Brighton, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds, Lisbon, Manchester, New York, Paris, Reading, Sheffield, Sydney, Vancouver… and most recently, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Mychael Owen, a North East-based Creative and Brand Director, picked up the #CopywritersUnite baton and launched England’s most northerly get-together in the middle of 2024. In November 2024, a three-hour gathering saw 30 people descend upon Newcastle’s Magic Hat, founded by Jess Miller.
