More long errrant library books find their way home, sometimes over a century overdue

After being on the loose for 104 years, a copy of Famous Composers Vol. II by Nathan Haskell Dole found its way back to the St Paul Public Library in Minnesota. It had been discovered by a resident of Hennepin County sorting through their mother’s belongings. They spotted that it was a library book that had been due to be returned in 1919, so sent it back. The St Paul digital library coordinator, John Larson, investigated the book and discovered that it had been acquired by the library in 1914, and a year later had survived a fire at the city’s Old Market Hall, where the library was then based.
