There’s a scene in Sting (on digital platforms) where a mutant spider paralyses a woman, climbs into her mouth, burrows down her throat, and then cuts its way out of her stomach… all while she’s fully conscious. I cheered at this point. If you’re similarly deranged, you’ll enjoy this throwback monster movie about a young girl secretly raising an extraterrestrial arachnid. The spider starts small and almost cute, but with every cockroach meal, it grows to the size of a corner couch. Turns out that I find a spider that takes up your entire dining room table somehow more distressing than a giant spider stomping down buildings.
Since the action correlates with the size of the spider, the first half drags a bit; but once the outsized arachnid starts snatching…
