One of Flying Saucer Review’s most striking cover stories was about a cloud-like UFO that travelled from Tenby to Aberfan, South Wales, at 7pm on 8 October 1966, observed by Nessie researcher turned ufologist FW Holiday. He noted that this small, bluish, luminous cloud orbited slowly in a circle three times its own diameter. It blocked out background stars and some observers claimed they saw coloured lights, but Holiday only saw “a self-luminous lump of blue-grey cottonwool.” About 10 minutes later, Holiday, along with about a dozen men and boys standing on the lifeboat slipway in Tenby harbour, were excited by the appearance of a dark object shining a brilliant ruby light at them as it emerged from the cloud.
