In the dim light of the cluttered surreality of the Viktor Wynd Museum of Curiosities near Bethnal Green, London, with the subtle scent of absinthe rising to the low ceiling from our shot glasses, the unusual display of artwork on the walls seems very much at home. ‘Four Witches & a Warlock’ is an exhibition of sketches and finished artwork by five of the 20th century’s most significant esoteric artists: Rosaleen Norton, Madge Gill, Austin Osman Spare, Ithell Colquhoun and Leonora Carrington.
