INTERVIEW FEN VERSTAPPEN

„Vor ein paar Jahren verbrachte ich Weihnachten zum ersten Mal wieder in den Niederlanden, meinem Heimatland. Seit 18 Jahren hatte ich das Fest nicht mehr dort gefeiert. Und ich hatte vieles vergessen: wie schon um halb vier Uhr nachmittags die Dämmerung einsetzt, wie hübsch in diesen Wochen alles mit Lichtern geschmückt ist, wie schön es ist, durch die Stadt zu gehen und die klirrende Kälte einzuatmen, während die Menschen sich in ihren warmen Häusern einigeln. Hier bin ich auch zu Hause, das habe ich in diesem Monat wieder sehr stark gespürt. Schon seit fast 22 Jahren lebe ich in diesem Spagat. Ich war 31, als ich eine Stelle in einer Ferienanlage auf Curaçao angeboten bekam. Eineinhalb Jahre zuvor hatten mein Mann Peter und ich unser erstes Kind bekommen, eine Tochter.…
