The term ‘race car for the road’ gets used a lot in motoring lexicon. Quite often the inference gets stretched by a very bubbly marketing team, who don’t know the first thing about what real motorsport requires, and the demands on the vehicle. In other cases, there’s a sliver of truth, endorsed by a vehicle setting some notable lap times around the Nurburgring, although again the final specification of those cars often differs from the one parked in the showroom.
