TAARUP KIRKE

Smukke, hvidkalkede Taarup Kirke ved Løgstrup i Viborg Domprovsti ligner næppe den stenbygning, som opførtes omkring 1200, men har nok sit udseende fra omkring 1685. Utallige ombygninger har dog begrænset, hvad man ved om fortiden. Men en rask gåtur omkring kirken viser et såkaldt langhus med kor og skib ud i ét – altså uden korbue – tårn mod vest, våbenhus mod nord, sideskib i syd og en lille apsis i østsiden. Langhus, tårnrum og sidekapel har flade hvælvinger. Kirken er tækket med bly, tårn og våbenhus dog med tegl. Sikkert er det også, at kirken har tilhørt herregården Taarupgaard, hvorfra hofjunker Tønne Juul i 1684 stedtes til hvile i et kapel i kirken.
