I am not a member of the Braai Grid, but my husband most emphatically is. This WhatsApp group involves posting a photograph of whatever you’re currently braaiing, tight focus on the grid, coals and food, perhaps a hint of spectacular scenery in the background. All hashtags actively discouraged, especially #blessed, #positivevibes and #selfcare.
There is a lot of crossover between the membership of the Braai Grid and some other groups my husband is involved in, like The Seagull Challenge (outboard motors, not birds), The Cricket Tour, The Cycle Tour, AfrikaBurn, The Other Seagull Challenge (still outboard motors), and various other road trips involving hard-core camping, trailers and no water, let alone ablution blocks; don’t be soft.
