Whether you’re listening on the school run or while you’re cooking, exercising or lying in bed, podcasts are a great way to learn new things, be inspired and connect with like-minded people. We’ve rounded up some favourites.

My love of podcasts began in 2014. I was taking a long-haul flight to Turkey, and I’m not the biggest fan of flying. Not because I’m scared – I just find it so boring. I don’t find in-flight entertainment entertaining (I hate watching a screen for hours); and lugging books around on an 18-day holiday wasn’t an option either (this was in the dark days before I had a Kindle). A friend recommended downloading a podcast onto an app on my phone. I soon learnt that it allowed me to choose from, and download, several audio series I could listen to when my phone was in flight mode.
