Prismatic cells are made with a hard plastic exterior, which keeps their volume from changing significantly over their cycle life. ■ Easy to Work With. Their cuboid shape, coupled with terminals located on the top of the cell, make it easy to form close connections between cells with busbars while keeping underutilized space at a minimum. ■ High Current Density Connections. Thick terminals keep resistance low, allowing for high current loads with less risk in overheating. ■ High Capacity. Because of their larger size, prismatic cells can be designed to have a high capacity per individual cell.
