Stimmt es, dass bei Vollmond mehr Babys geboren werden?

Ganz klar: nein. In der weltweit größten Studie zu dieser Fragestellung haben wir alle Geburten in Baden-Württemberg zwischen Januar 1966 und Dezember 2003 untersucht. Zwischen Mondphasen und Geburten gibt es keinerlei Zusammenhang. Kürzlich habe ich das noch einmal mit den Zahlen bis 2019 überprüft, und die Feststellung gilt weiterhin. Was wir aber herausgefunden haben: Am Wochenende werden weniger Kinder geboren, weil alle geplanten Geburten in die Woche gelegt werden. Außerdem werden die meisten Kinder Ende September geboren, sie wurden also um Weihnachten herum gezeugt.
